We live on a 23-acre farm in the coastal plains of North Carolina and this is where I make Hestland Gård Soap, which means “Horse Country Farm,” in the language of my Norwegian kinfolk. The name is also a tribute to, not only our horses, but Norwegian grandparents. Their surname is Hetland (no “S”). By adding the “S” it became “Hest”, which means horse! It was meant to be!
I may be horse crazy, but I’m also passionate about making handcrafted soap. I am a little one-person shop and make handcrafted soap from scratch in small, one-at-a-time batches. I use responsibly-sourced and sustainable ingredients to create luxurious skin-loving soaps that look beautiful and smell so wonderful you’ll want to linger just a little longer in the shower or tub. So please take a look at my collections. You can choose from a variety of small batch soaps that are inspired by our lovely pastoral surroundings and the Carolina coast and treat yourself to real, handmade, luxurious soap. I am also happy to do custom soaps made just for you. Just go to the Contact link at the bottom of the page and send me an email. And when you receive your soaps, I know you’ll enjoy using them as much as I enjoyed making them.
